Tennis Center Renovation Closure Extending Beyond September

 Hello, Tennis Center Users:

We are reaching out to you again with this news announcement.   Due to unforeseen circumstances that arose this week, the opening of the Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center has been delayed beyond September.  This is updated information since the July 29th newsletter. We will share updates as they become available, however you can also follow the project here on the City's website. Although we will remain closed for the foreseeable future, the Tennis Center phone number will ring at my desk, and if you leave a message, I'll return your call as quickly as possible.

If you see tennis classes scheduled this fall in the LOPR activities guide, all Fall registration for tennis classes and programming is currently on hold until a reopening date is determined.  Once a reopening date is set and confirmed, we will reopen and reorganize programming for registration and will send out a notice on when registration is available.

If you are a member of a City League team, be assured that we are working hard to have options available.  Information regarding the City League Schedule will be communicated to the team captains from the LOTC board.

If you scheduled a seasonal reservation through the Lottery, the day/time in which you scheduled your seasonal will still be held.  No payments have been run as of this date.  Once we have a reopening date we will calculate and prorate the fee for the remaining weeks and confirm with each party before running payment.

If you registered a USTA team to play out of the Lake Oswego Tennis Center, we are working with USTA PNW and other facilities to ensure that your teams will have a new facility to compete out of this Fall.  Once a facility is confirmed, we will reach out to those teams about which facilities are able to accommodate you this season.

If you are a participant, parent, or volunteer in our Special Olympics program, we will work with LOSD to reserve the Lakeridge High School tennis courts as we did this past fall for as many sessions as possible.  We will work with Gerri Allen to ensure equipment is available for this to take place.

We wanted to also take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued interest and support of the Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center.  While we understand that this news is frustrating to many of you, you have been patient and enthusiastic about the changes coming to the facility. We apologize for this change in schedule and think you will be very happy with the results of the renovated facility. We appreciate your sticking with us through all of these challenges and we look forward to seeing you inside the Tennis Center once we are able to reopen!

Thank you,
